The StandingBy app for contacts
If you agreed to be someone's StandingBy contact, you do not need the app. Alerts are sent to you by text and automated call either way.
The app is not available yet, in any app store. It is coming to both iPhone and Android. To hear when it is, email hello@straightasoftware.com.
What it adds
Once you install it and confirm the same phone number you agreed with, each alert you are sent can also arrive as a notification from the app. A notification can arrive over Wi-Fi when you have no cell signal.
- The same words as the texts. A notification says exactly what the matching text says, and nothing more.
- As well as texts and calls, never instead. We still send every text and call, whether or not you have the app.
- Only your own alerts. The app shows the alerts you were sent and your own consent settings. It does not show whether the person is in a session, or anything else about them.
Nothing can promise that an alert reaches you. Notifications, texts and calls can all be delayed or lost, and a phone that is off, silenced or out of signal may not show any of them.
Stopping
Removing the app does not stop our texts and calls. To stop those, reply STOP to any StandingBy text. More about opting out.
